Much is written about these products on the official website and other sources - NDS-Gear are here to give a plain, short, simple review in layman's terms! Of course, the original feature list can still be found below our own review.

The Acekard 2i is the first DSi card to be released on the market. It was created by the Acekard Team for the Nintendo DSi but is also backwards compatible with the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite.

Original cart size, simple plug and play, no passme or flashed Machine needed. The Acekard R.P.G. is the same size as an original cart and you don’t have to flash your machine or use a passme in order to use the Acekard R.P.G. The Acekard R.P.G. is the only slot-1 solution that offers both internal NAND flash memory, as well as removable media via MicroSD. Lag is a thing of the past thanks to the ultra fast NAND memory and combined with the MicroSD slot, you can have virtually unlimited capacity.

The Acekard2i is the first flash cart in the world to be open source. All source code can be modified and distributed freely! There are many features being worked on by developers around the world.

With "Quick Exchange" technology, you can easily and seamlessly transfer files from the MicroSD to the NAND memory and vice versa. You can also choose to start the software from the NAND memory or the micro SD. Which means you can share your software with your friends. The built in "Auto Save Type Detection" is able to detect the save type of up to 99% of software (at this stage we still haven’t found any software saves that the Acekard R.P.G. can’t detect.). And you also can select the save type manually. 100% Compatibility!

The Acekard R.P.G. allow to run all software without updating the kernel/loader. It eliminates the need for card readers or USB readers as the Acekard R.P.G. has a built in USB socket. All you need is a standard mini USB cable. The Acekard R.P.G. supports USB 1.1 and USB 2.0, so file transfers to the Acekard R.P.G. are fast. The Acekard R.P.G. doubles up as a USB flash drive when plugged in, so no software is necessary. However, if user wants to use the microSD card on PC, a card reader is needed.

The Acekard2i is compatible with all homebrew because of the DLDI auto-patcher. You can use Moonshell, one of the most well known homebrew software on DS, for multi media. Watching movie, listening MP3, reading TXT novel on DS is so easy!

The Acekard2i is the world’s first flash cart which has a “Trimming” Function built in. When you copy a file between the Micro SD and NAND flash, the card will automatically trim any un-necessary data in a file.

The Acekard R.P.G. can be used as a passkey, so you can boot your slot2 flash carts with it, and no MicroSD card is needed. AK2i also supports 3in1 expansion card. There are some users make special firmware which can launch 3in1 directly. Using "write balance" technology, able to re-write NAND flash more than usual! The "write balance" technology makes the Acekard R.P.G utilize the NAND flash evenly, so it will last longer than the original cart. Save files are directly written to memory.

The Acekard will store your save files directly into the NAND flash or Micro SD memory card, so no battery needed to hold the save files and you will never lose your saves.

You can exchange files between two Micro SD memory cards by using the build in NAND Flash as an intermediate, making file sharing easy. You can easily change the language within Acekard R.P.G. There are 7 languages in the firmware, Which are Simple Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, French, Italy, Spanish and Japanese. You can modify and replace these languages as you wish. Some change of language maybe need modify source code to make it effect.

You can easily DIY Acekard R.P.G skin, and change it at anytime. All the pictures, buttons, text, even their coordinate can be customized. You also can add your own customer text and customer pictures. Same skin different style! You can just copy the folder of skins to "/__rpg/ui/" and enable it from "System Options" at start menu.

AK RPG supports Action Replay codes. You can use all official Action Replay codes from datel and even cheat databases from other flash carts. This feature can be disabled in the menu or in running. Finally, the Ak2i supports soft-reset in running. You can return to Acekard menu when you’re running software. You do not need turn off DS to change softwares. You can disable this function in menu.
